Dude Dad Book Review
I recently downloaded the Dude Dad Pregnancy book because he just such a good time and my wife is pregnant with our fourth child so I figured I’d see if there is anything that I still didn’t know about how I can be better supporting my wife. There were some good nuggets of wisdom in there and some fun facts that I didn’t know on the scientific level.

Key takeaways: Dads! Spend some time learning about what is going on with your wife and unborn child. This will lay the foundation for the rest of your fatherhood journey. Start to be curious and to pull your weight. Pregnancy is not just about the woman. You are a part of this too.
He works through all the weeks of pregnancy explaining to men the things they need to know about pregnancy. We get to learn about the development of the baby inside our wives and the things going on in our wives’ bodies.
He also throws in some wise tid-bits for when we become fathers. Tips on how to be a better dad and more supportive husband. He touches on discipline, play and the role a father plays in kids’ lives.
Overall just a real good time. He obviously brings humor into the mix but I was surprised by the amount of wisdom and insight that was also included. I guess I should have known better because comedians are usually the most insightful breed of human.
One caution for the book: Not everyone’s experience with pregnancy is the same so take this book as a guideline or a set of general principles rather than hard and fast rules.
This book would be a great gift for a first-time dad or if you are working on your 4th kid, I’m sure you’ll get something out of it too. It is super short so you can definitely get through it in one pregnancy.
